From the steps outside the library, through the castle to the library itself. You can also enter through the door on the main balcony (there's a chest with the castle map there), but by taking the library stairs you enter right near the room with the magic key and Templar's sword. Also, make sure to unlock the door I leave through; you'll want that open for later.
