Yep, this is a thing you can do :) Neither FamiTracker (any fork) nor Furnace lets you do this, but it's pretty simple to program. I'll make an actual song with this... Some Day™.

The title doesnt have much significance (I am so good at naming things). All it really refers to is the fact the kick sample showcased here is only THIRTY-THREE BYTES and is still functional. To accomplish this, it is played at the lowest pitch possible, and the audio level of the DPCM channel intentionally ends up lower at the end of the sample than what it was when it started, so I can directly write a value to the audio level at the start of the sample, and since it ends at a different level, writing the same value every time produces a voltage click which works just well enough to be an attack for this kick sample. I also had to do a lot of faffing about in a hex editor to get the sample to behave exactly how I wanted it to, e.g. changing how much it slopes up or down, finagling the amplitude over time, and reducing whining artifacts as much as possible. But in the end, it just works!
NOTICE: This track takes advantage of the NESs non-linear mixing, and while I dont know how to show that PROPERLY in these videos, I can scale the waveforms up or down to at least get closer to the actual mixing. For most of the track, the bottom three channels are all significantly quieter than they would be playing alone, so I scaled them down relative to the pulse channels.

Self-remix because Ive got composers block. This is my first SN7 tune that doesnt use periodic noise for bass at any point, though it is used for percussion here. Nothing really special here; I might make this on AdLib as well if I keep banging my head into a wall, to complete the set, yknow?

More drums mode shenanigans! This time, the gimmick is an arpeggiated snare, achieved here with a multiplier macro to allow for full hi-hats. The hi-hats are affected by this as well, but with the right pitches its not jarring and actually makes them sound a bit richer. Theres also a multiplier macro on the toms to make them slightly punchier.
