He win an Oscar for his 2nd documentary, Icarus, which started as a personal story and ended up being a story of worldwide espionage changing the face of Olympic sports forever. This time out, Bryan Fogel went looking to find the full story of the murder of journalist Jamaal Khashoggi. And he pretty much got it in a complex tale of detail and emotion. He also got abandoned by the major doc distributors as a result. He spoke to David Poland about the film and the journey.
