Open Source Universe Scale Space Simulation Software Similar to Space Engine download for free and open source project! Gaia Sky is a 3D astronomy visualization software that allows you to explore the entire universe, including exoplanets, galaxies, intergalactic space travel, and volumetric nebulae such as the Crab Nebula in 3D! I have been looking for an open source alternative that is free to download for years and I finally found it!! In this program, you can explore an accurate, to scale, proportional representation of our universe (not just of our solar system, and not even necessarily just our own galaxy (the milky way), but outside of our own galaxy to explore intergalactic travel!!!!! So damn cool. I want to call this a game because of how fun it is but that's not giving it enough credit. The game Universe Sandbox is mostly about physics interactions in space it seems like, unlike this game. This "game" or program lets you navigate with a free camera, or with a space ship (which I find easier to use sometimes) for navigating to any part of the galaxy or solar system, with bookmarks allowing you to hop to landmarks like Earth, the Sun, Jupiter, Europa, and many more. If you are into any games like Kerbal Space Program or have ever wanted to try Space Engine but didn't want to spend money on Steam, you should absolutely download this program. I have put the download link below in this description. It's open source (yay!!) and hosted by a university in Germany it looks like. Works just as I expected it to on my Windows PC (coming from Space Engine) if not it even works better. Runs well on my Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti if not a little stuttery.
