Download festival 2025 - They have just announced the headliners for Download festival 2025 and already we have seen people moaning about the lineup - as always.
As per people are kicking off that Download festival should be a 'metal' festival but that's just not the case. Download festival follows on from Monsters of ROCK - A festival that Donington park held every year that homed some of the best ROCK bands - as well as Metal. It's only in the last 10 - 15 years that Donington has been home to Download festival and started to move more towards a heavier identity - sure. But that doesn't mean that's all it is these days.
I think the download festival 2025 lineup is actually awesome. So glad to see Green Day being a headliner - I'm not sure if they've played Download festival much before but I saw them headline Leeds festival in 2013 & they were fantastic. Sleep Token are great, wasn't expecting them to be a headliner but for a relatively new band they absolutely deserve to be a Download festival headliner. Korn have been around for ages and earned their status as one of the greats so they deserve this also.
Even seeing bands like Mcfly play Download festival is great too - following on from the HUGE success of Busted playing in 2023, despite the negative backlash about them upon their announcement.
