This is Downingtown High School West's performance of "The Jedi Steps and Finale", the song played at the end of "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" prior to and during its credits. The piece was composed by John Williams, and features several original and new themes as well. If I may say, it is my favorite track from the soundtrack of the new film, as it incorporates so many different pieces of music and Williams did a phenomenal job putting it all together. And on top of that, the orchestra did a fantastic job at playing it. I don't normally upload videos like this - in fact, I never have - but I love this piece so much and I think that the orchestra did great with playing it, so I couldn't help but upload it for everyone to enjoy.

I would like to apologize if the sound quality is a bit off, this was my first time filming with this camera as I knew my other one wouldn't pick up the sound that well. Also, the shots where I zoomed in wound up being out of focus, because apparently I needed to attach another lens in order to focus. But otherwise, hopefully everything looks and more importantly sounds great.

In comparison with the original piece, several segments of it were altered and made shorter when the sheet music for it was produced. This includes the opening of the track, which is played fairly faster than the original version, while other segments are sped up or spliced up, such as Kylo Ren's theme at 3:52. Ultimately, several segments of it are not modified at all. All of this is certainly not to say that these modifications take away from the piece in any way - it's undoubtedly a beautiful piece of music that features various different themes compiled together into a thrilling suite, and played by a magnificent orchestra as well.

One of the highlights of the concert was, not only this piece in itself, but the fact that out of nowhere R2D2 comes rolling into the auditorium, with Chewbacca coming in close behind him. It was a great surprise that everyone seemed to love - especially R2D2's "screech" at 7:39.

Enjoy! If you were in the orchestra playing this and you happen to be watching the video, you did an awesome job!

"The Jedi Steps and Finale" starts off with an original piece by John Williams, which transitions into the Force theme before building up to the classic Star Wars ending credits music. This then transitions into a rendition of "Rey's Theme", followed by a segment of Kylo Ren's theme, a rendition of "The Falcon" and then "March of the Resistance". The piece then follows with a combination of "Rey's Theme" and the Force theme, and this version of the track ends with a powerful crescendo not heard in the original version.
