This is a quick proof of concept mod I did with on original X-box and SNES controller. Basically I just took the PCB of a SNES first party controller, chopped it up to not much more than the size of the chip and wired it up to a bunch of tact switches mounted under the buttons of the X-box controller.
Though it was a bit more complex than that and took probably about 10 hours to get everything to fit correctly and function, I now know how to do this and should be able to do a better job next time!
