Well, I may disappear for long stretches of time, but I'm never truly gone! Back with a special upload this time, which I'll explain below. Gonna be a long description with this one, for those who really care to know where I've been.
Short Version:
What I've just posted is a collection of music I wrote for a film that I'm also directing. These are the various themes used throughout the film, and I'm quite proud of their complexity, energy, and emotional tones. There's still a lot I have to learn as a composer, but I believe these are some of my best compositions to date, and I'm looking forward to someday sharing the full orchestrated versions with you all. When all is said and done, it will be full feature-length score, more than an hour's worth of new music. This is what's been taking up so much of my time.

But now, onto the longer explanation of why I've been gone so long...
So yes... in addition to composing music, I also write and direct films. This film in particular has taken up a considerable amount of my time in recent years: a feature-length film called "Down the Road". It's a passion project that has taken me longer to make than I care to admit, but after years of work the final cut is finally coming to fruition. Hence, my lack of activity on this music channel. So while managing this music channel, I've also spent years in the post-production of this film. Not just in music, but in editing, visual effects, etc. So my time was spread thin and unfortunately my music channel suffered, with me submitting WAY less music than I'd like.
But, as I said, the film is finally coming to fruition, and I'm striving to become much more active with this channel in the coming year once it's done. Believe me when I say that this film has been a real labor of love, both a gift and a curse. I have loved the process, learned so much about filmmaking, storytelling, and life in general, and I'm truly proud of my work... but it has eaten up a huge chunk of my life trying to get it made. Regardless, it's going to feel like a huge weight has been lifted once I'm done, and with any luck I can finally devote more time to writing music and practicing my craft outside of the confines of the film. And with any luck, that will mean much more music posted to this channel. Stay tuned in 2020!
