Mario Kart double dash is easily the most unique mario kart game ever made. This is largely due to its namesake mechanic of the double dash where you get 2 characters instead of the usual 1 all of whom have their own special items. Meaning who you pick matters more than it does in other games in the series since your character selection affects more than the size of the kart you're in.
