The guys over at Magic Lantern have developed an automated version of DotTune! This video demonstrates their first alpha implementaiton. All that's required of you is to set up an Autofocus target and establish critical focus of the target in Live View and Magic Lantern will take care of the rest, performing an automated scan of all possible AF tune values to find the optimal value that yields the most consistent focus, then saving that final value in your camera when done.
When Magic Lantern releases this feature in their next official build it should be compatible with all tunable Canon DSLRs bodies that Magic Lantern supports.
