. Here I show how dot-matrix printers work and I also repair one I end up breaking.
The printer I show is an Epson ActionPrinter 5000+ ESC/P2 QUIET.
Dot-Matrix printers use a series of pins in the printhead and moves along a ribbon saturated with ink. These pins push against the ink ribbon and the paper to produce an image.
In this video, I end up jamming the printhead gearing system with the ribbon (as the ribbon cartridge was damaged) and I repair it. _
