One of the most impressive Doom mods I've ever played, Zombies Ate My Neighbors does a remarkable job of converting the cult classic top-down SNES/Genesis game into a first-person shooter while preserving nearly every major feature and mechanic.
If you're not familiar with the original game (shame on you!), Zombies Ate My Neighbors is all about finding and rescuing neighbors strewn about mazelike levels overrun with horror-themed enemies and hazards. Once every neighbor in a level has been rescued, an "Exit" door appears that takes you to the next level.
The footage shown here is from the public October 2022 demo. Sadly, the mod is still unfinished as of January 2024 and its creator, Dude27th, has said on Patreon that he's struggled to find free time to work on it. Nonetheless, he did release a more recent build to Patreon supporters in late October 2023, so there's still hope that one day it'll be finished we'll finally have ourselves the entire Zombies Ate My Neighbors game in FPS form.
