Serious Review:
This map is insanely hard and long but very gratifying to complete. The fights are all pretty fun to figure out and create a strategy for. This map would be an absolute bitch to max, given the slight RNG nature of some of the fights. One notable factor in this map is the frame rate, at least on my machine. Play got a little choppy in some spots and made it a little harder to focus.
Aside from that point, it was a little hard for me to enjoy some fights, just because they were plain too hard. It would probably be much more enjoyable for someone better than me. A key moment was when I made a “branch off” save after a hard revenant fight because I didn’t know if the cyber there got crushed or not. I forgot to make a save on my main path however, so when I saw that he didn’t get crushed, I had to reload the main save and do the entire fight over again. And of course when I redid the fight, it took me forever to get through again, as opposed to my first attempt, which went off without a hitch.
Anyway, enough rambling. The bottom line is that this map is a grand adventure through a giant wooden fortress with some clever fights and high-octane slaughter.
I think I’m gonna do difficulty ratings too from now on, let me know what you guys think.
Rating: 9.5/10
