Unlike most of my videos, there's no real educational element here. I just wanted to record myself painting four environments, which are usually considered my strong suit. It was a nice way to unwind this weekend, and I figured it'd be worth sharing.
The four sketches presented here took a total of about 3 hours between them, and they're sped up 10x. None of these are by any means finished pieces (hence the emphasis on doodle).
Don't think for a second that any beginners should be jumping in to what people tend to call 'speed painting'. I hate that term, and I feel like it's a pox on those who are new to digital painting. Speed comes naturally from practicing much longer paintings. If you're going to churn things out quickly, those should be thumbnails for testing out composition. Nothing final, nothing really worth showing anyone.
