I learned something new.
A Monstera is a hemiepiphyte. A hemiepiphyte is a plant that lives as an epiphyte during a part of its life. The aerial roots absorb nutrients from the surrounding air in the environment, and also help the monstera attach more easily to trees like an air plant (Tillandsia). But as a baby, it does need soil to grow. Cool right? Sorry I’m new to plants so I think it’s rad.
Today, we’re building a wabi-kusa with Begonias in a DOAA Shizuku. Also, visiting Aquarium Co-Op and eating the best inexpensive Poke in the Seattle area.
