God’s grace is always there to welcome the prodigal son/daughter back! No matter how bad your past is, God’s grace is so big that if you come to him with true repentance, He will forgive you and wipe way all of your sins. As believers, we are called to a higher standard. For example, if a parent does not treat its child right and hurts the child, just because they are a believer, it doesn’t mean there won’t be repercussions. If a person in the church is in a place of leadership, it doesn’t mean they can act however they want because of God’s grace. If they do sinful things in this place of leadership they will be asked to step down from leadership. God’s grace can’t be taken advantage of. You can ALWAYS repent and step back into God’s grace. But living intentionally out of God’s will while calling yourself a believer - that is stepping out of God’s grace. You’ll find and live in his grace again when you repent and step back into His will. So His grace is always there, but you have to make the choice to receive His grace by repenting and stepping into His will.
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
Matthew 7:13-14
Broad road = destruction (choosing to live outside of God’s grace, protection, abundant blessings)
