After 2 years of waiting, one of my most anticipated indie games is finally out! GoobnBalloonsDX is the debut title of new indie studio Iconic Arts, composed of graduates from Fitchburg State University's Game Design program. GoobnBalloonsDX is an arcade shoot-em-up inspired by the Bird & Beans minigame from the WarioWare series, and Cuphead. You play as the titular alien Goob, and must save the planet of Goobstar from being taken over by the evil balloons. With a cute handdrawn art style, a gratifying gameplay loop, and a variety of gameplay objectives, GoobnBalloonsDX is
the perfect bite-sized experience to squeeze into a tight gaming backlog.
So today, I analyze the UI/UX design of this game, and why this indie game is one you won't wanna miss in 2024!
