What I learned from my first short film was to not film entire scenes from eacht shot adn you will get into different troubles. First with long scenes it can be more difficult for actor to not make mistake, so you will waste more time with a lot of retakes, then long scenes with many angles its hard for actors to keep their continuety the same for each ahot and you will suffer in the edit that thing can't be matched due to continuety issues. Also more often due to lost of time only film few standard framing coverage.
