The Last Adventurer | Donohoe Mountain - a less explored peak in San Diego's backcountry! @TheLastAdventurer | Uploaded May 2020 | Updated October 2024, 15 hours ago.
One of the most pristine and remote areas of San Diego's backcountry is the Otay Mountain Wilderness, running along the US-Mexico border. The Otay Mountain Wilderness is run by the BLM; and has many sub-areas, including Sycamore Canyon. Inside the many trails of Sycamore Canyon is a great, unassuming mountain - Donohoe Mountain - with 360 degree views of the wilderness of south San Diego. Like many areas, this hike also has some interesting lore relating to the "bigfoot" of Otay Mountain.
