One of my favorite amps is my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. It has one down side though... it is super loud. Like 40 watts of ear bleeding volume loud. An easy solution to this is to put a volume pot in between the preamp and power amp stages. You don't need to rewire your amp to do this, just put the Donner Emo-Amp Controller pedal in the effects loop. This can be don with any amp that has a send and return for effects. Now, you can turn ear damaging tone down to a reasonable volume. I think I'll just keep this plugged up to my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe from now on so I can actually use it to practice with.
