Funny how I started my DKC series run in reverse, kicking off with DK64 and ending with the original. DKC is certainly the easiest of the bunch to pin down, but it's not without it's oddities.
Monkey Mines ups the difficulty, adding in a few new level varieties. In particular, it introduces the first Mine Cart Stage, which have become pretty infamous for their difficulty. Though Mine Cart Carnage is actually fairly easy with enough practice.
Unlike most of my other runs, I decided to keep this one a bit more vanilla and not cut out failure states, as DKC is a bit more... unforgiving then the others. Dying and having to retry stages is a lot more a part of the experience, so I decided to go with it unedited for the most part.
