Don Ray Band — Artist Bio
Led by Don Ray, the Don Ray Band is a genuine Rockin’ Americana powerhouse with deep roots in Southern Rock, Blues Rock, and heartfelt country storytelling. Born into a musical family in Sioux City, Iowa, Don began playing drums in his father’s band at just 10 years old. He later moved to Austin, Texas at 18 cutting his teeth as a drummer and vocalist in regional bands before joining legendary fiddler Frenchie Burke in the mid‑80s
By his mid‑20s, Don relocated to Nashville to pursue songwriting. He became a staff writer on Music Row with Square One Publishing, collaborating with hitmakers like Randy Travis, Monty Holmes, and Curt Ryle. His skillful writing landed him in the catalogs of major publishers such as Universal Music, Sony/ATV, and Warner Tamerlane

Over the years, Don has released multiple albums:
On Top of the Heap (2009) – debut infused with gritty blues-rock
Lonesome Rider (2010) – soulful southern rock anthems
