This project has been a really special journey for me. Stepping into the role of musical director for Restore Local has pushed me far beyond my usual sound and comfort zone, and that’s exactly what made it so exciting. Working with incredibly talented African artists like Ben Pol and Juliani opened my eyes and ears to new rhythms, new stories, and entirely different cultural perspectives. That’s how ‘Lete Sound’ came to life it’s something fresh, unexpected, and deeply inspired by collaboration. The project is also about shining a spotlight on the incredible talent coming out of Africa and giving these artists the global platform they truly deserve.
For me, this goes beyond music. It’s about connection, learning, and using creativity as a force for something bigger. Africa has been close to my heart for over 25 years, starting with Dance for Life, continuing through my work with Just Dig It, and now evolving into Restore Local. Being part of a project that combines culture, music, and real environmental impact means everything to me.
I’m proud to be part of something that not only sounds different, but actually makes a difference.

Don Diablo releases collaborative single“Lete Sound” with Ben Pol and Juliani in support of the Restore Local movement
Global electronic music artist Don Diablo has released “Lete Sound,” a fresh Afro house collaboration infused with his signature futuristic production style.
The track creates an international stage for Tanzanian singer Ben Pol and Kenyan rapper Juliani, both established voices who have been shaping the music scene in their countries for years.
“Lete Sound” blends Afro house rhythms with East African musical influences, symbolizing unity, optimism, and cultural exchange. The release marks the start of Don Diablo’s support for Restore Local, a growing movement that champions locally led ecosystem restoration across Africa.
The single is the first in a forthcoming three-track EP, Restore Local Sessions, through which Don Diablo aims to amplify awareness and engagement around restoration by connecting global audiences to local action on the ground.
The release of “Lete Sound” also represents a creative sidequest for Don Diablo, as his focus shifts toward his forthcoming studio album FLUX, while Restore Local forms part of his philanthropic focus for 2026. The album was recently introduced with the launch of “Go Home With A Stranger,” his collaboration with Wiz Khalifa and Chri$tian Gate$.
The collaboration also builds on his long-standing connection to Africa. Earlier in his career, Don Diablo supported youth-focused initiatives such as Dance4Life, contributing to HIV/AIDS awareness. More recently, he partnered with JustDiggit on the “Stream To Regreen” campaign, releasing a track with Ty Dolla $ign where streaming revenues directly supported landscape restoration projects.
With “Lete Sound,” Don Diablo continues that journey, collaborating directly with African artists and bringing regional voices to a global stage. The track not only highlights the richness and influence of African music, but also recognizes the originators behind today’s global Afro sound.
Restore Local supports Africa’s broader ambition to restore degraded landscapes at scale, contributing to climate resilience, biodiversity recovery, and stronger local economies.
“Lete Sound” is more than a musical release, it marks a new chapter in connecting global culture with local restoration efforts, using sound and storytelling to build momentum behind a movement that is already reshaping landscapes across the continent.
