Of all of the Fast and Furious cars to collect, this is the Holy Grail. This is the screen-used hero car that Vin Diesel drove in the movie.
It is the 1970 Dodge Charger Vin Diesel actually drove in the very first Fast and Furious movie. Yeah, so this is easily the most iconic car from any of the Fast and Furious movies and here's a couple fun facts about it: 1.) It's actually a 1969 Charger converted to look like a 1972. There were only actually 3 1/2 total cars built for the movie. The first is the “hero” car, that's the one you're seeing here. That's for all the close-ups with the actors, and then there's two stunt cars. You can identify this as the “hero” car because of the cosmetic one single roll bar. The stunt cars doubled up their roll bars for extra bracing for their stunt drivers. And what about that half-car you're probably thinking ? Way to pay attention! This is actually called a McRig, which is basically the center section of the car mounted to a truck rig so that a stunt driver could drive and the actors could act without crashing . Fact 3.) None of the cars actually had real blown engines. All had their stock motors with fake flowers in them. If you remember the iconic garage scene where the blower was revealed, that was actually just a borrowed real blown hemi engine that was just set in for the shot. It was never actually hooked up.
