Starting in July, Hong Kong introduced strict social distancing measures to fight the spread of COVID-19 in the city.

Sundays are usually a day off to meet groups of friends for the city’s 390,000 migrant workers working in Hong Kong. But everything’s had to change based on the current social distancing measures.

Christy Kan for Coconuts Hong Kong brings us to popular hangout spots for migrant workers on the first weekend when gatherings of groups of more than two were banned for this Pandemic Dispatch.

In our new series, PANDEMIC DISPATCHES, we examine how COVID-19 has changed the lives of Coconuts staff around the region, in ways large and small.
