Hey! So if you're here, you've probably watched my interview with Dolly Parton! What a fantastic experience to chat to the country music legend.

Dolly was in London for a few days to promote 9 to 5 The Musical and I was invited along to the red carpet to interview her.
The red carpet was packed with press from all over the world, with celebrities also walking the red carpet to see the show on its gala night.
While I had prepared around 10 or so questions/topics that I could ask, just minutes before Dolly arrived the press were told they would be clustered together to ask just one question.
This means three to four reporters (sometimes more) would have to huddle together to share the same recording of just one question.
Luckily I was singled out as a reporter who would be allowed to have one-to-one time with Dolly... but what would my single question be about?
You can see just how intense this moment was, with Dolly flanked by several bodyguards and entourage. You can also see the huge crowd surrounding us, fans screaming for Dolly and stopping traffic in the distance in the hope of catching a glimpse of the megastar. The paparazzi can also be seen snapping away on all sides during the interview.
While I would have loved to ask her about her upcoming Netflix series "Dolly Parton's Heartstrings", her book foundation "Dolly Parton's Imagination Library", Netflix film Dumplin', The Grammys/MusiCares, advice to singer-songwriters, future music plans, plus her thoughts on 9 to 5 The Musical... I decided some of these questions had been exhausted during her press run earlier in the week and also further up the red carpet.
As a viewer, I find it boring when stars are asked the same interview questions because 99% of the time they give the same answer. Lady Gaga's "100 people in a room" answers for example.
After a bit of research, I could see Dolly had not been interviewed about her visit to Ireland, and with my own heritage and a lot of my viewership coming from Ireland, this would be a new and interesting angle. It has now even been picked up by newspapers in Ireland!
The few exciting seconds I had the pleasure of speaking to Dolly were amazing having grown up as a child with her music playing in my house - and just like that she was whisked off to the next reporter.
