Dollywood, located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, is a world-famous theme park closely associated with legendary singer, songwriter, and actress Dolly Parton.
In 1986, Dolly partnered with the Herschend family and transformed the existing Silver Dollar City into Dollywood.
Dolly grew up in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, in a poor family, and developed a deep love for her hometown, its people, and its culture. One of her dreams was to share the beauty and traditions of the Smoky Mountains and Appalachian culture with people from around the world.
Today, Dollywood covers more than 160 acres and offers more than 50 rides and attractions, including thrilling roller coasters, exciting rides, and family-friendly experiences. Visitors can also enjoy live music performances, restaurants, shopping, traditional Appalachian crafts, and cultural experiences.
Attractions like Dolly’s Tennessee Mountain Home give visitors a glimpse into Dolly’s childhood and Tennessee roots.
The park also includes Dollywood’s Splash Country, a large water park with slides and family attractions.
With its music, entertainment, culture, and family-friendly experiences, Dollywood has become one of Tennessee’s major tourist destinations.
More than just a theme park, Dollywood is a celebration of Dolly Parton’s life, creativity, values, and lifelong love for the Smoky Mountains.
