After Dolly Parton died at age 80 on Aug. 25, the country music legend's team shared her cause of death was cancer. In a statement to MS NOW, her representatives said the “Jolene” singer fought a short battle with the illness “bravely” until the end and died surrounded by loved ones after being hospitalized at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. Dolly’s team also honored the beloved star’s enduring legacy of generosity, from the hundreds of millions of books donated through her Imagination Library to research funding that helped create a lifesaving COVID-19 vaccine used around the world.
