Well Duh! When you take in twice the calories you also take in twice the nutrients. Consequently many deficiencies that could arise if you were lame with your caloric intake wouldn't happen if you were simply hammering the calories in.
Your chances of getting a vitamin, mineral or phyto nutrient deficiency decrease as you increase your caloric intake. In other words deficiencies are much more likely on a 2000 calorie per day intake than they are on a 6000 calorie per day intake.
