Federal Spending has been out of control for a long time, and in the last 5 years since Covid, spending has *doubled*. It's completely unsustainable, and we emphatically support any attempt to cut the Federal budget.
That's what DOGE has been trying to do, but it's already easy to see that nothing they could ever do will be enough if the President and Congress don't commit to making their recommended cuts -- and a whole lot more -- permanent.
With a shiny new $1T Pentagon budget, huge increases across multiple Federal departments, and a massive expansion of executive branch activity in specific areas such as ICE, DHS, and HHS, it's not looking too good for any genuine chance at reining in spending. But ultimately, the power of the purse rests with Congress. We need them to commit to reducing the size of the Federal government, or we're just going to continue heading for fiscal disaster.
