Many of us will enjoy taking our dogs out for a nice long walk in the countryside, especially during the spring and summer months.

But with lambing season fast upon us, the National Farmers Union is encouraging dog owners to be responsible, and keep their pets on a lead around sheep and cattle.

According to the NFU, Dog attacks on livestock cost £1.6m in 2017 , and so a new campaign is asking pet owners to # take the lead.
