Side sleeping shouldn’t leave your hip aching… but if it does, your knee might be the real issue.

If your top leg stays lifted and your knee doesn’t naturally drop, your body shifts more pressure straight into your hip. And trying to force it down? That usually just adds more tension instead of fixing anything.

What actually works is the opposite—getting those tight areas to relax first, then teaching your hip to move without overworking the outer muscles. When your leg can settle into position naturally, the pressure on your hip starts to fade.

Take a little time to release the area, then practice controlled movements while keeping everything relaxed. Stick with it, and you’ll notice side sleeping feels way more comfortable.
