Does this trial reels strategy actually work and is it worth it? Sharing the data with you!
I’d seen people posting about this “hack” where you duplicate your reels and share them to trial reels as well as normally posting because Instagram only shows trial reels to non-follower. That way you can try and actually reach new people (which we know is getting more and more difficult on this app). So I gave it a go!
My results were definitely hit and miss with mostly misses but 900 followers is also not to be scoffed at. I have two clear takeaways from this experiment
1. I am good at making content for MY audience/people who know me, I’m less good at making reels for people who have no clue who I am. I think to use this strategy more effectively you have to be better at the latter. Or even make content exclusively for trials that targets new people only. If I had the time, energy or cared more I would probably do this.
2. If you’re already making reels it is such little extra effort then even for small rewards it’s worth doing. You just save your reel to drafts, duplicate it, post one normally and post the other as a trial reel.
Have you tried this? Do you have a trial reels strategy?
