A volatile stock market, shuttered shops, and millions out of work. There’s no denying the impact of coronavirus on businesses and our financial system — and plenty of experts are weighing in on how we get our economic engine humming again. But with so many ideas for how to fix things in a post COVID-19 world, here’s something to ponder: Does our global economy need a spiritual reboot?

We’ll look at the topic from three diverse perspectives. First, our founder and editor in chief, Payam Zamani, will facilitate a conversation on the spiritual implications of governance and economic decisions — and the related challenges and opportunities offered by the current pandemic. The discussion will feature:

- Dr. Augusto Lopez-Claros, former Director of the World Bank’s Global Indicators Group
- Dr. Nava Ashraf, professor of economics at the London School of Economics
- Shane Tedjarati, President and CEO of Global High Growth Regions at Honeywell
- Dr. Robert C. Henderson, Principal Consultant at The Henderson Consulting Group
- Sovaida Ma’ani-Ewing, Founding Director of the Center for Peace and Global Governance

A second panel hosted by Jenna Nicholas, CEO of Impact Experience — which facilitates convenings that build lasting relationships between investors, philanthropists, innovators, and leaders of marginalized communities — will look at the challenges and opportunities created by the COVID-19 crisis for entrepreneurs and small business owners.

Panelists include:

- Desiree Akhavan, Co-Founder of Lazeez Bakery
- Ali Javid, Co-Founder of Wrapbook
- Bahia Overton, Founder of Bahia Honey
- Maryanne Fike, Co-Founder of bwe kafe and CEO of VIA Capital Partners
- Cyrus Greenall, Co-Founder and Director of Spectrum App

That will be followed by “A Unique Entrepreneurial and Spiritual Journey” — a one-on-one conversation between Payam and Steve Sarowitz, founder of Paylocity and producer of the film “The Gate.”
