Many accuse the Bible of being silent—or even supportive—on the question of slavery.

The Bible shows us that, by respecting our free will and upholding His justice and mercy, God works amidst our fallen human nature to try to bring about the good in any situation.

In both the Old and New Testaments, we see clear stances Scripture takes when confronting the great evil of slavery (see Lev 25:39, Deut 15:12, Eph 6:9, and 1 Cor 7:21).

Let us continue to pray and work to end this great evil—that the dignity and freedom of all men and women may be recognized and respected.
