Does Step 3 score matter for IM if Step 2 is 260+?
✅ In most cases: not that much.
If you already have a strong Step 2 score (260+), most IM programs mainly want:
➡️ a Step 3 PASS
A very high Step 3 score usually doesn’t add much for Internal Medicine.
(Some fellowships may look at it, but most programs don’t weigh it heavily.)
Your goal should be:
🎯 pass smoothly
🎯 avoid risk
🎯 protect your timeline
