When we say there is “more current” on a circuit, what are we actually talking about? Is it electrons moving faster, or just more charge sliding through the wire at once? This question got stuck in Dustin’s head, and what he found when he started digging into it completely blew his mind. ⚡🤯
In this episode he talks through how he pictures a conductor, a sea of electrons, and an electric field pushing on all of them at the same time. He kicks around ideas like current vs current density, drift velocity, and what “more amps” really means when the system is still sitting at 60 Hz.
This one is meant to mess with your mental picture a bit and maybe give you a new way to think about amps, not just hand you a formula. If you see it differently, think he’s wrong, or have a cleaner way to explain it, drop it in the comments. How do you imagine what “more current” really is? 🤔
