Today I went out to the wilderness to talk about if the placement of a microphone even matters. This comes from people saying that lavalier microphones should be exactly there, on your lavalier. But is that actually true? Now while the proper location of a lav mic is debatable, I make sure to hit all reasonable spots where one would place a microphone for recording a talking head or interview in general. Regardless, let me know where the best placement is, if the wind cover (or deadcat) even matters, and why simply holding it in front of you face with the wind cover is the actual answer.
