This video shows the reaction of magnesium and aluminum metals with hydrochloric acid. The goal of the video is for the viewer to assess the speed of each reaction in order to compare the reactivity of the two metals. The demonstration is used as an introductory phenomena to introduce concepts of periodic trends in chemistry.
