Can a computer programme help someone find true love?
Dateline started off as a fundraiser for the European Club in St Patrick's Comprehensive School, Shannon. Students purchased application forms, filled out their details and crossed their fingers and hoped for the best.
As Pamela explains, data from the forms was entered into a computer programme, and matches were made based on criteria such as age, likes, dislikes and personal characteristics. She feels that the project has been well-received,

To make things more interesting, additional names were placed on the list. Surprise greets the announcement of the matches, not least from Elaine Nason who has been matched with Philip Fox. To allow romance to blossom, all couples will go out on;
"A date, Cilla Black style."
