At UC Davis, Professor Vinod Narayanan develops next-generation
technologies that help power plants and factories use energy more
efficiently. His federally funded research aims to reduce how much
energy these systems waste, which can lower electricity bills and make
everyday products more affordable.
Narayanan’s innovations could dramatically cut energy use and carbon
emissions in the industries that power daily life, from food processing
to heating and cooling systems. Without sustained federal funding,
these breakthrough technologies wouldn’t reach people and communities,
slowing down our ability to tackle climate change, reduce energy costs
and build a more sustainable future.
