Russell T Davies returned. David Tennant came back. Ncuti Gatwa was cast as the Doctor. Disney+ signed on. A spin-off was announced. Everything seemed to be falling into place.
So how did we end up here?
With Doctor Who now heading into another wilderness period, Russell T Davies stepping down, Bad Wolf moving on, Disney+ exiting the partnership, and the Christmas Special cancelled, I wanted to look back at the entire RTD2 era and pinpoint exactly where things started to go wrong.
