Got both? Keep reading….Many colds start as Cold-Colds (esp in Winter) and can morph into Hot-Colds. Once hot and cold are in play the most important ingredients for recovery are: SLEEP (please take a ton of naps) and HYDRATE like your life depends on it with water supplemented by sugar-free electrolytes. I like @relytebyredmond (the sea salt brand).
Do you have a cold or flu right now? Which one is it? Here are some things that I find especially helpful by cold-flu type:
Cold-Cold - hot compress on the back of your neck, Lanshin Hot Massager by Acera along back of the neck, ginger tea, hot water with pinch of salt or electrolytes (sugar-free), hot bone broth with lots of ginger and scallions, naps and sleep with lots of covers and heat pads until you break a sweat.
Hot-Cold - a ton of hydration with sugar-free electrolytes, mint tea, a Chinese herbal formula called “Yin Qiao San,” extra vitamin C (this is cooling in nature so be careful with sensitive tummies), fruits, lots of rest. Even with a “hot” cold I still recommend drinking warm or hot water because it rehydrates you faster, which will ultimately have a cooling effect.
Signs of both - SLEEP + HYDRATE.
If you have questions just pop them in the comments!
