Plaster or joint compound? What do you call it? Here’s my understanding — In the UK we use the generic term ‘to plaster’ or ‘plastering’. Which also can refer to skimming walls or skim a ceiling, which essentially is what North America would call skim coat. In the US — drywall compound, joint compound or ‘mud’ is similar (but not the same) to what the UK would generically call plaster. Anybody, please correct me if I’m wrong 😄 In the US / Canada, you have ‘red top’ all purpose — with more glue to the compound for taping and jointing. Then ‘Blue top’ lightweight finishing compound.. In this video I’m using a Beissier product, made in France. Bagar Airliss LF — like Airliss G, a finishing / smoothing compound, so no glue and not recommended for taping. Bagar Airliss LF has more glide Vs Airliss G, and sands that bit smoother. All the Bagar Airliss range can be spray applied, designed for airless spray application. Correct me if I’m wrong, please share your experience and understanding from your country or region. Regards Pete
