Rupert Spira | Do We Need to Stop Thought to Abide as Being? @rupertspira | Uploaded October 2024 | Updated October 2024, 11 hours ago.
Do we need to stop thought in order to abide as awareness, or do thoughts and perceptions prevent us from simply being?
Rupert says: ‘Don’t feel that thinking and perceiving need to disappear in order to abide as your self. Awareness is equally present during thinking and perceiving and in their absence. Just like the screen is equally present during the movie and after it has come to an end.
‘You can abide in your true nature right now – the fact that thoughts and perceptions are present makes no difference. Just be that which is aware of this conversation and the sight of this room. Know yourself as that. Feel yourself as that. Be that knowingly.’
