Religion claims that God has spoken to humans. We assume that God would only ever speak the truth. What happens when those who carry the message of God say or write a message that is suspicious? What if the message is later overturned by another messenger from God? What if the message of God is contradictory? Do prophets ever lie? Is the Bible ever wrong? If so, have we opened up a "can of worms"? How can we personally identify truth if we admit the possibility that the message delivered by prophets or the Bible is untrue?
