Does the Ice Really Prove an Old Earth? Dr. Jake Hebert Answers Bill Nye
One of the most common objections to a young Earth is sitting right there in the ice. Ice cores from Greenland and Antarctica are often presented as airtight proof that the Earth is hundreds of thousands of years old, most famously when Bill Nye raised it during his 2014 debate with Ken Ham.
In this clip from my full interview with Dr. Jake Hebert, a physicist at the Institute for Creation Research, we dig into how ice cores are actually dated, why the dust and dust-layer counting methods are far more subjective than most people realize, why you cannot count annual bands in Antarctic ice at all, and how the standard old-earth models quietly assume millions of years rather than proving them.
Dr. Hebert holds a PhD in physics from the University of Texas at Dallas and has spent years researching Ice Age models from a young Earth creationist perspective, including published work challenging the Milankovitch theory that underlies most secular ice core dating.
