Seven years after doing a 23andme, Roger was pleasantly surprised this past April when Amanda reached out to him after she discovered they were half-siblings through 23andme as well. Both adopted from Korea, Roger lives in Honolulu while Amanda lives in New York City. Being on two opposite coasts and having never met each other in person, Roger and Amanda are meeting for the first time in Sedona, Arizona, on a uniquely curated trip by Travel+Leisure.
Their reunion and first embrace take place at the exquisite 5-star hotel – L’Auberge de Sedona. From there they hit the road, taking in the beauty of the Red Rock Scenic Byway with a private Pink Jeep Tour, followed by an authentic night out at Elote Cafe, with some Mexican & Southwestern cuisine featuring locally-grown ingredients and a cocktail menu highlighted by the finest tequilas and mezcal. They visit Tlaquepaque Shopping Centre to explore the local shops, galleries, and cafes followed by a Native American hoop dancing performance at a local art fair, then a healing sound bath at the mystical vortex of Sedona.
