Could accounts of spirits in Indigenous traditions and Thai village life help us ask better questions about psychedelic encounters? How do we distinguish an experience from our explanation of it?

An intense feeling of reality doesn’t settle what caused an encounter. Cultural influence doesn’t settle that question either.
