About the DMF Online Community:
The DMF Online Community was launched on May 15, 2020. A place where individuals of all abilities can connect, engage, and celebrate the joy of music together. It is broken out into three areas: A) DMF On-Demand is a resource for fun, interactive, recreational music, movement activities, and more. B) Virtual Live Events are a way to keep everyone connected through music, regardless of where they are or what’s happening in the world. C) Virtual lessons and small group classes provide an opportunity for more individuals to experience the joy of music, in the comfort of their own homes at an affordable price. danielsmusic.org/virtualcommunity
About Daniel’s Music Foundation:
Daniel’s Music Foundation was founded in 2006 by the Trush Family to empower individuals with disabilities through music, after one of five undetected brain aneurysms burst inside their son, Daniel’s head. Today, we serve thousands of individuals – locally at our 8,700 square-foot music center in NYC, and nationally through the DMF Online Community. Our mission is to provide a comfortable, educational, and social environment in which individuals of all abilities can enjoy, learn, and practice the joy of music together.
Through our Disability Awareness platform, which includes presentations about differences, our music festival that celebrates Disability Pride Month - Hello Inclusion, our global award show - The Danny Awards, and our record label - Just Call Me By My Name®, we are challenging stereotypes about individuals with disabilities and working to build a more inclusive society for all. As an organization, we are passionately committed to providing access to music for all, as well as changing perception and diminishing isolation for individuals with disabilities.

![20 Years of Daniel’s Music Foundation (DMF20) | Ken & Dan’s Anniversary Message + Highlights
Today, February 26, 2026, we’re celebrating a milestone: 20 years of Daniel’s Music Foundation. What started in a church basement in 2006 with one keyboard class and five musicians has grown into a thriving community and an 8,700 square foot Music Center.
In this DMF20 anniversary video, Ken and Dan look back on the journey, share a few favorite memories, and roll through highlights from the past two decades, including performances, classes, community moments, and the people who made it possible.
This work has never been ours alone. It belongs to every member, family, teaching artist, sponsor, director, supporter, volunteer, and friend who believed in the power of music along the way. Thank you for walking this path with us, and here’s to the next 20 years.

[00:02] KEN: February 26, 2026. A special day for us, right, D?
[00:06] (Visual) Dan turns toward Ken and nods.
[00:07] DAN: Right, Dad.

[00:27] DAN: And now we have this big, beautiful, 8,700 square foot Music Center.
[00:31] KEN: A lot has happened over these 20 years. We’ve grown a lot. You know, why don’t we go to the highlights and check it out? Right? What do you say?
[00:41] DAN: Roll it.

[01:09] KEN: You know, some people like to celebrate by partying. Some people like to celebrate in quiet and solitude. For us…
[01:18] DAN: We like to celebrate with some good old-fashioned cookies and milk.
